Good bugs for Cannabis

It can be confusing trying to figure out which bugs to remove from your cannabis plants and which to keep. I'll list a few I've encountered so you know the good guys from the bad.

Lacewings and their larvae, the Aphid Wolf

Lacewings are slender green flying bugs that lay little egg stalks on your cannabis plants. These egg stalks eventually spawn the notorious aphid wolf, a mean little bastard that mows down aphids left and right. If I could buy that angry fella a beer I would because he's really busy doing the Lord's work down there on my cannabis plant and he could probably use a drink. If you see a green lacewing or a little egg stalk just let them be.

Cannabis growers love Ladybugs

Pretty much everyone loves a Ladybug except aphids, because that's what Ladybugs eat. If you see Ladybugs on your plant that means you also have aphids so you might want to start a spray regimen with Monterey Garden w/ Spinosad, but definitely don't bother your new Ladybug friends. They're on your side and rumor has it they also support Marijuana legalization since more cannabis plants equals more aphid infestations.

Spiders and Assassin Bugs

You may get the occasional resident spider or assassin bug crawling around inside your plant. I tend to let them be if they aren't too obtrusive since they're only there because they have bad cannabis pests to eat. Just be careful when you're leafing around your plant so you don't get bit or stung.
